MEET THE CHEF
"I started as a dishwasher in rural Minnesota at the age of 14. I was shocked to see the organized chaos of a kitchen during a busy service, and I knew immediately that I had found my place. I slowly learned how to cook over the next few years, and my love for food eventually outgrew my love for a busy dinner service."
"When I was 20 I got my first big promotion to Sous Chef, where I finally got to start being creative and have my dishes put on the menu. After a couple of years as Sous, I set off to travel and learn as much about new foods and techniques as I could absorb."
"Eventually, I worked my way into a Head Chef position, where I learned and became passionate about responsibly sourced food, and seasonal cooking. These practices will stick with me, and they are the foundation of Roots Kitchen & Catering."
